..." a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person." ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portrait)
I am very happy to have captured this perplexed expression of Cat's, because it is a 'trusting uncertainty'. You probably wouldn't guess that this shot is taken inside our office building.. and Cat is actually fully clothed. However she was quite bemused when I asked her to pull the shirt down on one shoulder. Perhaps she was too polite to say "why"... but anyway, .....after 2 shots we all started laughing hysterically and the mood changed dramatically for the the remaining shots!! It was another 365 highlight moment for everyone at work.
I am also happy that I am finally understanding more about layers, gradients and blending. So here is my shot taken against an office door, ...add gradient, some masks, 2 lots of bokeh and some rain...
Fav. I wish I had just an ounce of your editing skills. This is quite beautiful and Cat's a great sport. Just shows what you can do at work with a willing colleague and a bit of imagination.
@mikew Thanks Michael, No it was a simple rain drop jpg texture in overlay layer blend, then duplicated, and lowered the opacity until I got the effect I was after. I moved the original layer around to make sure the position of the drops on the face was not unflattering. Once all the layers were compiled I went back to each one briefly to fine-tune the masking.
