I have been MIA for so long I am not sure anyone is still out there... but...this shot accidentally represents my year so far - "brutal but lovely" !
This is a photo from a shoot I did for an Italian Family recipe book - and I was lucky enough to try the very special Nona's biscuits after the shoot...mmmmm ☺
I am still out here.... As much as my long work hours allow. I think these look great on that gorgeous background color! Frothy meringue type treats on Sea foam is perfect.
This is a gorgeous shot... And ugly, they are not!! I'd have eaten them long before I finished shooting! Nice to see you around... I'm still here... More or less... It's been a crazy busy year for me too...
@joemuli yes, I can only dream about being 'independantly weathy' and not having to work 12 hours a day!!. I finished a huge 3 yr project last week - so I am now very happy to have a weekend to myself for a change & am enjoying catching up on photo stuff & my 365 buddies.
@redpants I am impressed - I am really nervous about trying to make them Sue! I am absolutely enjoying the 'calm after the (very long) storm' at the moment.
Have a look at Silvia Colloco's blog - Silvia's Cucina. Down the right hand side there are recent posts, the X’mas Hazelnut Cookies (Dolcetti alle Nocciole) are so easy & soooo delicious. I was transported to Italy with one bite. Savoir the calm, have a wonderful Christmas.
I'm still here... occasionally. :) Missing the community terribly though, so seriously considering starting a project again on 1st January. It gave me great focus and direction with my photography.
This is fabulous. I'm looking up the recipe right now. How nice to have a photograph in a recipe book. Did you do all the pics for the book, or just this one?
@gailmmeek Hi Gail - nice to hear from you! I think in the end about a quarter of the photos were mine! (& this particular one did not make the 'cut' ) I agree committing to a 365 project enforces a discipline & leads to growth photographically - I have still been shooting every day, even when I don't have time to post. @redpants awesome thanks Sue - will check it out. I would love to be transported back to Italy - one way or another!! xx
OK...Bookmarked that recipe! Those are so beautifully photographed and look SO delicious, I had to see what they were made of. As I make and give away piped meringues abut as fast as I can make them, I think I can handle this one! Yum!
@Weezilou they tasted divine - can also put finely chopped toblerone in them she said. I have bought all the ingredients - I am just too faint of heart to try & tackle them. I think the Nona roasted whole hazelnuts & took skins off half of them or so & then chopped half of them them really finely by hand, half into the blender for a nice light crunch.
@ltodd What have you got to lose? They are "ugly" to start with, and if all the ingredients are in them, they would even taste good if you had to "slurp them off of a spoon" ;-)
