This is the first Nankeen night heron I have seen at the local pond. This juvenile was happy to sit in the sunlight for quite a while. My laptop's memory had a 'dump dummy spit', and darnit, the layers became corrupted, so I am 'calling it' and moving on...sigh...
@wag864 sometimes editing will let you express an idea through an image that is not able to be 'captured'. Editing in LR ot PS is a big learning curve, but I have always embraced that 'challenge'. Start with LR & you will be amazed with the changed in your images. I still remember the months of LR agony when I could not even find my photos... but it is worth persevering...
@deborah63 oh I can't remember now - the back ground is an actual Audubon painting & I cloned out the original bird & moved a few rocks etc.. I have a painting texture that I put on top ( I run an embossed filter on it first) .. I did use Topaz on the heron, & then Alienskin Exposure which is really good for a final overall colour balance to bring the whole thing together at the end
