@northy it is actually still in colour - the steps & the fur were almost the same tones - & I liked the way the fur & the stone textures almost became one in colour which is why I chose this image. I did desaturate it a bit though & tried to kick the eye saturation along, but there was nothing much to bump! The background was a distracting mess of a view of other monkeys, so there are a bunch of layers covering them up.
He (she) looks collapsed by the world. Lovely shot. I am curious, if you don't mind... how are you accomplishing the textures in your layers? Topaz? Something else? Many thanks.
@rosiekerr This was a quick edit done while watching MasterChef! I just used about 4 layers of free Flypaper Pro Add-on for PS http://blogs.adobe.com/cssdk/2013/02/creative-cloud-exclusive-and-free-flypaper-select-high-resolution-textures-pack.html Feel free to ask me if you need help loading Actions or anything you think I might be able to help with. The Flypaper Action is a bit like Topaz textures but I don't need to leave PS to go to a thirdparty plugin (I was just feeling a bit lazy last night!! ) I have tried Topaz, but have a lot of my own textures that I have taken that I use - usually about 4 or more at a time at low opacity which I find gives me a lot of control. I mask bits off & use the bandaid healing to remove texture without taking colour out too.
Amazing Lyn. I'm still too scared to fully go into editing programmes - due to lack of knowledge, and still trying to learn the basics of photography. This is stunning.
@rosiekerr well don't tell him that ... the night before this I cooked spatchcock with fig & lime tagine while watching Masterchef and editing at the same time...LOL!
@lynnz yes, maybe..... this was inside the monkey temple in Bali, and there are hundreds of monkeys! They seemed to have a pretty comfortable life, but were quite aggressive towards each other. Maybe they were overcrowded even though they were free to roam and there were no fences.
