Confusion, there's certainly no seaside here!

It is very confusing to see these Kelp Gulls on a piece of farmland between the cows! They are about 15km's away from the ocean.
nice clarity of the gulls and the cows ~ cool shot

A lovely scene

When gulls came inland, we used to say it was going to rain!! Did it?
September 14th, 2017
Maybe the gulls are on holiday.

WE have many gulls living around our area and Wellingborough is right in the middle of the UK as far from the coast as you can get!! They come inland as they know they can find food easily - especially from the landfill sights.

Grass Gulls?
September 14th, 2017
it makes a cool photo.
what happened?
did they make it back to the ocean?

Seems there is food for all. I don't think 15 km is much for a gull. Lovely shot.

They must be on holidays, after a change of scenery.

Something is attracting them, maybe the green grass :)

In Florence, Italy our tour guide went on and on about the seagulls living in the city and damaging the statues.

Nice capture ...

@pamknowler That's interesting Pam, in the 11 years we are living here I have never seen any around. There was a huge gathering and they disappeared as quickly as they arrived.
September 14th, 2017
Nice capture, they get in everywhere!

September 14th, 2017
How odd, was there a tractor about, they like to follow them here!
September 14th, 2017
Plenty of worms , I supose. They are by the lot on the farmland when it is ploughed.
September 14th, 2017
Great shot - very clear. I love seeing the two "flocks" together!
September 14th, 2017
If we see gulls in land, we usually say that it must be rough at sea!
September 14th, 2017
Great shot!
September 14th, 2017
How interesting
September 15th, 2017
Perhaps they want to keep their feet dry
September 15th, 2017
Lovely to see. We have lots of different gulls that live inland these days. They seem to adapt well to anywhere that provides them with food!

A very weird juxtaposition of subjects gives you a very fun story

Great capture
September 16th, 2017
What a fun capture! They two main subjects are as different as can be, so it has a lovely surprising feel to it.

Yes, these are definitely odd field mates. The cattle don't seem to mind the unusual company tho.

(Thanks for the comment shared on my Colorado mountain picture. I appreciate your visit.)
