They are all over the show, some high up and some low down. This is only a small area that I zoomed in to. The dam has run dry, but it does not seem to bother them. In the middle a Weaver decided that he wants to live there too. Maybe now you can see how tricky it is to get a good shot of the Red Bishops. They just flit around all the time and seldom sit still.
oh I just love this image - seeing the big picture is wonderful - I can imagine them really clearly now as it looks like scenes I see here! (just different species)
These are like our red wing blackbirds only way more vibrant. They live on similar grasses and the males get a bright red edge on their wings during breeding season.
