who suffered the same fate as Goliath. It was a very windy day, hence the fancy hairdo. I don't know if it was due to reading their stories on the fence, but they all looked so sad to me. They live in enormous grounds and it is sometimes very difficult to spot them. Simba was well camouflaged in the long grass, this is very cropped.
even on a reserve there, they are denied living wild and free, how can they be anything but sad. don't get me wrong, I applaud this reserve, but just imagine your country when once this fella really was king
He does look sad (in the way we see things) but we never really know what they're thinking. Like many others, I love how his mane blends in with the grass. Beautiful shot.
@koalagardens Yes I understand you, but these lions were born in a circus in captivity and were saved. Others were found in cages on balconies. They did not know before what freedom is. They cannot be let into the wild as they do not have the instinct it needs to live wild and free. They are free here as they live in huge spaces and get fed regularly. They are also not on their own, as they are placed with another lion. Some are even siblings. It still is very sad indeed.
