I was very surprised when I saw this farm all locked up and the vineyards in this sorry state of affairs. All other vineyards in the area have a lot of green on them. Of course, the Helderberg in the background.
I am shocked as well. Apparently the other farms that have green have been around to do the necessary irrigating. It is sad such a beautiful spot could come to this.
Such a beautiful place. I will say that growing grapes and the whole vineyard, winery operation are incredibly labor intensive. Not to mention the actual making of the wine. I’m hopeful this lovely place will be restored. Your Helderberg is so beautiful.
wow. this is a stunning image. it's so crisp it almost looks like the vineyards and farm have been superimposed on top. love the light on the helderberg and the foreground
Too bad. great picture.
Here the farms are for sale wherever you look and get bought to build more and more subdivision. One asks where do all the people come from to buy these homes.
@etienne These vines are very old and sturdy. It they were to get enough water now the could be saved. It is 5 to twelve though, so I suppose they will have to be taken out. I will keep my eye on this farm and report ;-)
The background reminded me of the Grand Tetons but the foreground reminded me that this is in vineyard country . . . and not the Tetons. I like how you juxtaposed the two.
