The Waxbills eating the chickweed

on my front lawn. They are such small little birds and came in droves. I was so surprised to see them through the scullery window. Of course they flew away when they heard me open the front door. I waited patiently and some of them came back.
Those red eyes look like masks. Very pretty birds.

This is a magnificent shot since they are so tiny. It’s easy to see their size when comparing it to the blades of grass.
