The Hourglass by luvthyclassics

The Hourglass

photo 368
I am the hourglass
keeping the time,
as the days quickly pass
and my body unwinds
and begins to fall down like the grains of sand
which slip through the fingers of my helpless hands,
and I can do naught as I watch myself age,
trapped in this skin as it slowly decays.

BUT aging is a happy thing, not a sad one! I think we are beautiful at every age, even if we lose the shapes we once had :) Have a wonderful day everybody!

Good that you take these shots when you are young, so can remember your body and effortless youth.

Love the black and white!! Great. Fav.

So love the concept and poem and the strong lights and shadows work very well. Fav for me. Maybe a portrait mode shot instead of a landscape (or crop off sides), that could emphasize the hourglass shape..?

@janmaki that totally makes sense! why didn't I think of that :( by the time I uploaded I was already late for work so the whole thing was a bit rushed haha, thank you for the suggestion and for the fav :)

Strange little poem for this photo. I'm not getting a fatal sense from this at all. There is an ethereal, ghostly quality. That I like. Seems more 4th dimensional than earthbound.

I love the B&W! When we get older the curves are still there , just in different places! ;)

...and we don't even have to do that! Google Mimi Kirk who proves that aging is optional! :-)
