This seagull came in for a screaming landing on the slime left at low tide at Hastings early this morning. Most of the inhabitants of the bay were being singularly non active ,decorating all available posts and light fittings but few bothered to take to the air. This one looked a bit as if it was changing its mind about landing on all that slime. I was squatting on my haunches waiting for action and my boots were sinking ever so gradually into the sand beneath. I positively squelched my way back to dry sand.
