A re-enactment of when the Americans came to Bude during WW11 and a display.

In 1944 the US 2nd Rangers (the ‘Saving Private Ryan’ regiment) were encamped in Bude, training for the D-Day assaults on Omaha beach and the infamous, disastrous assault on the non-existent guns at Pointe Du Hoc. This September, re-enacters set up camp at Crooklets beach and staged a stunning recreation of the cliff assaults during the inaugural Bude at War weekend.
Cool looking machine :)
