Winter Wonderland by lyndemc

Winter Wonderland

Yesterday a little red bird house, set out in preparation for the incoming weather, today, a big red house (surely there's a bird or two living inside) already in place for the coming storm. It was snowing so hard the camera actually couldn't see the barn to automatically focus. I tried to manually focus myself but in all honesty, I couldn't see all that clearly either. It was an amazing snowfall that absolutely made my day.
This is just beautiful, Denise - that first big snowfall is so exciting no matter what your age - bet you already had this red barn spotted for just such an occasion - that is some hard falling snow. I am in heaven through your photo! Fav

Isn't the first snowfall just glorious?! This is a beautiful shot. You did a fantastic job getting out there in the driving snow and working with your camera. Impressive!!

Wow, that is really some snow. Would almost like to see it one day, but not sure I could stand the cold. :-) Awesome capture.

Oh wow, well it's made my day as well. I love to see snow falling like that. And against that red barn - its perfect! I can just imagine you with snow in your eyes, and on your eyelashes, blurring your vision!

@milaniet How right you are about that first snowfall of the season — it's so exciting!! To tell the truth, coming across the red barn was pure luck. My husband had to run and do a quick lettering job (Sundays are the one day semi-trucks are home and available to be lettered) and I went along on the ride with the hopes of finding photo opportunities. This barn happened to be on the route to the job, otherwise I would've never seen it. Thanks for the Fav, by the way. :)

I dream of getting snow like this. Nothing to speak of last year so waiting again this year.

I give my age away, I do not like snow of any sort these days, it makes walking a dangerous occupation.

@rickster549 Actually it wasn't all that cold. Temps were hovering right at 33° which is balmy compared to those storms where it's 12° and blustery. Thanks for the fav.

-7deg forecast for when we arrive in Birch Bay on Monday. Bloody hell!!!! What a shock for this Brisbaneite coming from 35deg. I think it will be great for a day or so and then the novelty will wear off very quickly

Wow this would make a pretty christmas card, nice find when the snow is falling, the red really helps to bring out those beautiful snow flakes!
