Encounters of a Strange Kind

I'd not seen this particular type of flower before at the state park where we often camp so was focusing in on its unique features; each flower parts, to me, looks like a fish or some odd underwater, other-worldly creature. The spotted beetle just happened to land in a good spot just as the shutter button went down, so he's part of the picture too.
So beautiful, and great details on this beetle. Fav.

That's a fascinating flower - love the spotted tips. Super focusing on that beetle that joined in.

Fabulous capture of flower and beetle. The flower is very delicate and as Jane P says, the individual blooms resemble foxglove, but are differently displayed. Interesting.

Interesting yellow bug. As others have mentioned the individual florets look like foxglove but they seem to be carried in a different shaped flower head.

I had to look again at the flower. The bug had my attention.
