Recently opened, this pedestrian bridge is about 40 feet wide and the city/parks hosts different events and activities on the bridge. There is nearby parking, bike trails, food trucks, games, water, etc along and near the bridge.
Ok, I approached this backwards! This explains it nicely. What a progressive idea! About how long would you think this was? Love how they've done this. Really very inviting looking.
@milaniet Milanie, this was a 4-lane bridge for vehicle traffic. It was closed in July 2013 and reopened as a pedestrian bridge/park in June 2014. As best I can figure, it is just shy of 1/2 mile long. It is quite impressive; especially since I knew nothing about it til a couple of weeks ago. My husband and I plan to take our bikes over one day and explore all the bike trails we saw from the bridge.
