Climbing Pikes Peak

I waited too long to make reservations to ride the cog railway up to the top of Pikes Peak so we decided to drive it. The top is at 14,110 ft elevation and the road very steep. In fact, coming back down we had to pull over for a bit to let the brakes cool down. We decided our low gear on the van was not quite low enough.

What a climb and what a view from the top! Love seeing all those switch-backs on the road, making the road look like a snake hugging the hill!
Reminds me of when we lived in beautiful British Columbia!
