Grungy Roses by lynnz

Grungy Roses

These little roses were still blooming in our yard when freezing cold temperatures hit us. Since I'm not motivated to go outside and take pictures when it's 24 degrees, I brought them in and this will have to do for my picture today, but I'm not crazy about it. Guess it fits the day, we don't have snow, just gray skies and brown everything.
You've done a great job with it - love the way you composed it filling the whole frame - the color is lovely.

Oh I see what you mean. Talk about polar opposites, well I suppose that is bound to happen since we live in the opposite parts of the world. But even with our scorching temps, apparently it is supposed to drop down to the mid to early 20's tomorrow (That's Celsius). I really like this photo anyway, it has lovely colours and really gives a feel of the winter to come. :-)

It is still beautiful, though. Lovely shot, Lynn. It is definitely getting near the end of the season. It was very cold here today, too, with wind chills in the 20's.

Wonderful! Bad year for my roses, I don't have anything left of them. FAV

Pam
It is amazing how roses can withstand the cold weather. I like this! Great lighting, and tones.
November 14th, 2014
As long as it's gray and cold you might as well have snow to brighten the ground. That's my opinion, anyway. :)

I just love it!!! You know why? Cause it's very romantic!! Especially the colors and processing!! It reminds me of all us females that "pressed" our first roses into a book, from the guy we loved at the time!!! FAV!!!

November 14th, 2014
that gives a very cool look!

My little roses look very much the same. There were so many buds ready to bloom but the early frigid temps cut their lives short. Pretty pinks you captured, even though they're faded.

Still have roses here too but a bit battered from all the rain we've had this week ... Nice capture

It's very pretty! I know the feeling- it was gray yesterday and although it's sunny again today, it got really cold so I did not feel like going out to take a new shot. Staying warm is so much nicer!

This is a super shot, Lynn. It is fitting for the ending of one season and the beginning of the cold weather that brings that white stuff (it's a naughty word so I won't say it - that and I think if I don't say it won't happen!). Fav

It's interesting. It IS cool. Different. Funny how the stuff we don't like much other people often find good.
November 16th, 2014
