. . .the lens, that is. My late birthday present, the upgraded Canon 100mm Macro IS USM. I have loved my old Canon 100mm Macro lens within an inch of its everloving life, but my sweet husband thought it was time to offer up the new glass with the image stabilization. It just arrived this afternoon and OH MY. . . please view large!

Thank you all for being here and being so supportive - your comments mean the world to me in this growing obsession.

You have so many wonderful macros. I would love a macro lens... unfortunately I have other things on my wish list a little higher up. Do you take all your macros handheld or do you use a tripod? I'm guessing handheld as it would take too long to set them up with a tripod... but I always wonder how people get such clear macro shots.
