Urban grunge 1

For my "Get-Pushed-2" challenge from Robin @girlie: "I'd like to see some Urban Grunge". . . it took me some time around work and family time to get downtown and really look for what I had in mind. This is really a merge in Photoshop of two different filtered edits in Lightroom, first a B&W filter, then isolating the reds. After the merge I sharpened just a bit and added some noise. . .I particularly wanted the illusion of shooting through the fence to still show in the foreground.

Urban grunge 2 is in another album: http://365project.org/lyno/morethan365/2012-08-03

@girlie Okay, Robin - this may be it. Please view large to get the full effect ;-> . . .certainly NOT my usual flowers. . .

Great shot, shooting through the wire fence really adds that extra element.

@darrenburch Wow, thanks very much - this shot was a real push out of my comfort zone! I'm glad someone likes the fence element as I did!

Clever you, great editing, love the wire, just makes it perfectly grungy!!

Great job Lyn! I think you did an excellent job and rose to the challenge. It's definitely urban and it's definitely grungy! I do like how you retained the fence in the foreground. It's the way a lot of things are looked at within cities- often through fences- real or imagined.

This is an awesome response to the challenge!! The fence in the foreground takes this from great to exceptional. And the selective color really adds as well. Fav.

This picture needs more fav's, so here's one. I agree with the comments above, the fence is the little extra, but the composition and processing is great for the rest of the picture as well.
