So the Seattle Aquarium had a baby sea otter born 10 days ago and I just had to go see it. It's kind of a big deal because they have only a 50% survival rate and the pup is doing really well. The pup is so young that she was like a floppy doll...could barely even hold her head up. Hoping to go back in another 10 days or so to see if she's a little more active. Mama was so sweet. It's her second pup, so she's an old pro. There is no place to view or photograph them other than through an awful plexi-glass wall. :(
@lissamc@armorel@humphreyhippo@tabbycat Thanks, all! For whatever reason, my favorite spot is between his nose and upper lip, followed closely by his little paw.
@mstipe Go soon! I heard they only have that puff-ball fur for their first 4 weeks (so baby can float while mama goes for food...awwww!). I went on a weekday right when they opened so I got to watch her for a good hour before other people started showing up.
