Holy Bible

I received this in a box of donations to the church thrift shop that I run.
Given to the daughter, from the mother in December 1881. There was a lock of hair in it, clippings from funerals and accidents, and birth announcements. Small parts of this person's family history. I will put it in the church library and it will safeguard this families memories.

That is very cool, 1881! Kinda sad to me though that the owners didn't keep this piece of history in the family. At least it landed in safe hands where your church can look after it!

Katrina, that was the first thing I thought of. Perhaps their is no more family. I received it in an estate clearing.

I agree with everyone else's comments before....what a beautiful treasure you have there. I think it would be fascinating to read through it and see if the family could be traced from the information within those pages and returned to them. That's pretty old though so maybe they are lost forever.
