Remember Ivory laundry flakes? That is what the texture of the snowflakes looks like to me. You have really had it this winter haven't you? Very interesting nature shot. My friend and I went to Crivellos camera store and she looked at cameras. She is leaning toward the G!2. I spent as much on an external flash as she would on a camera! How did that happen?
@wac Wendy, I do remember Ivory flakes, (I'm an old fart). Our winters are pretty harsh. I'm in Central New York and we get hammered with lake effect snow. I enjoy every bit of it. I love getting out to play in it and am always fascinated with the photo opportunities.

@kathyd Kathy, it was very cold overnight. This is in an open field and the frost just coated most plants. I'm not sure why, but I know when it's that cold I have to grab my camera and get out there. :-)
