Coming home. by maggie2

Coming home.

I love seeing the geese come back. I love the line they make and I enjoy the squawking as they fly overhead.

I want to thank everyone for all the kind words and encouragement you give me everyday.
What a majestic picture. It gives me goose bumps.

I love seeing them too. I like eharing them at night or when the clouds hide them. To me it is one of the iconic spring songs. I love your sweet photo of the flock coming home.
Well, now I've done it and started a second album. For those days I can decide or have something more I want to share. I must be nuts!!!
April 4th, 2011
Wonderful spring shot!
April 4th, 2011
So graceful in flight! I've never seen them in a straight line either! Cool photo.
April 4th, 2011
I love watching the birds in the sky. Beautifully taken. Great capture for sure.
April 4th, 2011
I don't think I've ever noticed a flock in a straight line... Very cool capture!
April 4th, 2011
Isn't that a glorious day when the birds come back? Yay! Very cool shot of their formation!
April 4th, 2011
Wow, M. thank you for the fav. It was fun taking those shots. Hope I didn't lie on any doggie present at the park! And, thanks for the encouragement. I will try to keep the second album for those times...not every day.
April 4th, 2011

April 4th, 2011
what a good shot! I hear the geese and go outside but haven't really seen any yet close enough to get a picture.
April 4th, 2011
Very pretty
April 4th, 2011
fantastic shot! I use lots of facts about geese when I am lecturing about team work and management at uni.
April 4th, 2011
Great capture
April 4th, 2011
wonderful line-up. Nice capture!
April 4th, 2011
Love it Margaret! What a great line in the blue sky!
April 4th, 2011
Spectacular in its simplicity!
April 4th, 2011
wow..great capture..x
April 4th, 2011
love it! wonderful capture
April 4th, 2011
I guess there's a reason why the geese form skeins like this - are they slipstreaming. Whatever ...it's a good shot.
April 4th, 2011
what a stunning line! Great capture!
April 4th, 2011
I can't believe they're in such a straight line - it's quite incredible. Lovely capture.
April 4th, 2011
Neat shot! (they're starting to return to Brady Lake, too!)
April 4th, 2011
This really is an awesome exercise which they carry out to perfection. I often wonder who calls the shots, or how they know which one is going to take the lead, drop back, come up close etc. It really is synchronised flying.
April 4th, 2011
I don't really see birds migrating so this is a wonderful shot to see.....thanks!
April 4th, 2011
nice shot - great formation flying
April 4th, 2011
Nice capture, Margaret!
April 4th, 2011
Great pic. Where I live, the province is doing quite a bit to dissuade them from coming back. We have too many of them here and they are taking over the city landscape. I`ve even seen them nesting in parking lots and right beside the various intersections.
April 4th, 2011
Wow - great capture! Well done.
April 4th, 2011
A great sight; very nice capture.

Deb
You have a steady hand, perfect capture of an amazing bird. Humans could learn so much from geese about teamwork and cooperation...if they wanted to !
April 4th, 2011
Fantastic! What a great capture!
April 4th, 2011
@russianblue Kass, the same in New York. The geese have taken over golf courses, parks etc. so many people are very unhappy. They can be very messy. I say send them to my yard...I'll take pictures of them.
April 4th, 2011
@momoflilly Deb, I agree. They know what they are doing. We could learn something.
April 4th, 2011
@sharonryan Sharon, I hate to see them leave, but it's a joy when I hear them returning. I'm thrilled if I see them or catch a picture like this line.
April 4th, 2011
@murnane Marg, I always wonder how they decide who the front guy is. It's quite amazing when you think about it.
April 4th, 2011
@littlec I find watching and studying all animals and birds to be fascinating. That's why so much of my year will be animal shots.
They are definitely a study in team work.
April 4th, 2011
@pacole Philip, I would really miss this too if I moved. I guess we would have to be happy with the new things we see.
April 4th, 2011
@ellida Graham, I don't really know why they do this, but there are reasons. Many times they form a V formation. I will look it up.
April 4th, 2011
Thanks everyone for the kind words. I do appreciate them.
April 4th, 2011
beautiful capture!!

Great capture!
April 4th, 2011
Good eye.
April 4th, 2011
Awesome line-up!
April 4th, 2011
Fab! It warms your heart doesn't it? I often wonder how they decide who leads too? And do they change places sometimes? And what if two or three want to go in different directions? Mind blowing!
April 4th, 2011
Great capture you got there. Awesome!
