May 4th, 2011
@karens68 @lilithcherry Karen and Lilith, I had a thistle feeder that I put up last year. No one even looked at it. Yesterday I dumped the old thistle on the ground and in they came. I have since put up some new thistle. They prefer eating off the ground. Works for me.
May 4th, 2011
@gavincci Jaydee, this is sunflower seeds I put all over for the birds. Thank you.

Lovely capture.
May 4th, 2011
@shenay Thank you Shenay for putting that link up. They really are different than ours. Yours are very pretty too. Your robins are also so different than the ones in New York. Very interesting.
May 4th, 2011

May 4th, 2011

May 4th, 2011
@shenay I can recognize some of the deer, and squirrels around my yard. They don't pay much attention to me anymore. They know I'm just going to stand there.
May 4th, 2011
@maggie2 i was outside y esturday watering the flowers and and doing stuff and the wood pigeon just mooched eating the get used to u they know you feed them and start to trust you i love my garden lol
May 4th, 2011
@shenay I'm in a wooded area, and love it too. They do get used to you. If I don't get the food out early enough, the squirrels will climb up and look in my windows. I have enjoyed your animals. Your shots are amazing.
May 4th, 2011
Very sweet. I would have thought it was a wild canary. Good for you, knowing what you're looking at!
May 4th, 2011
You got a nice close up of this goldfinch. we have lots of them around our feeders. and of course squirrels too. as long as they feed from the ground I don't mind but when they get at the feeders and stuff themselves leaving hardly any for the birds...well that's a bit upsetting.
sometimes I do have kind of chase them away..don't get me wrong I like the squirrels.
May 5th, 2011
Lucky you ,this little bird is fantastic,we have parrots (called 28's) coming back into our yard ,they are wonderful to watch when they are feeding. Wonderful shot Margaret

Wonderful shot! I think I saw one of these in my tree this morning, actually. I never had before (in person), but it was bright yellow and about the size of the purple finches we sometimes have. Such a great shot - love the angle!
