This is awesome, lady... FAV for me.. I love the look on his face.. "here we go again.. when will it ever end???"... I love it when you go to the zoo....
I think you have a thing with these lions like I have with the swans - only your relationship with them extends back much further. Lovely how you catch their behaviour together.
You really manage to capture the personality in these Photos... mind you I am seeign a theme of hen-pecking going on so how about one to reassert some macho pride! =-)
I love all your lion shots. You really capture their personalities. I just realized you shot this with a powershot. Do you always use this camera on your lion shots? Amazing clarity!
This is really an amazing shot. Do you shoot between bars, or from a very long distance, or through glass? I can't imagine getting such free shots of zoo animals.
Your lion shots are amazing. When I go to the zoo, they're always sleeping and if theyr'e not sleeping, they're hanging out so close to the wall, you can't get at an angle to get a good snap.
@msk1p2 Sandra, the trick is to find out when feeding time is. They get very active about half and hour before closing. That's when they eat. The zoo keeper tipped me off. :-)
@ellen Ellen, I use two cameras, the powershot and a Canon Digital RebelXT. I like the point and shoot because I don't have to change lens and it is lighter to hike around with.
@maggie2 I just had to fav this when I came back to it this morning. My bf always says that cats don't have facial muscles to show expression. I say he's full of beans! ;-)
@cath I'm not happy to see animals contained either. I would like them to be where they should be. Especially the cats, but in this world, it doesn't always work that way. So I understand your point, but support the zoo in order to assure the survival of some that are threatened.
I think I've said this before, but I love your lion shots! The photo monkeys do to.... another one on the PP! Congratulations ... and well deserved. One question ... will you be painting this one?
@photodoll Jenn, I learned to check them out about half hour before closing. They get very active as dinner time is coming. Maybe this will work for you. :-)
I love your lion photos! This is such a sweet capture of these two!
but you were there or waited for the right time too.
good and great.
aren't they wonderful creatures?
