And then she said.... by maggie2

And then she said....

I watched a civil war reenactment. These people are very dedicated to showing the history. The only thing I think might have helped their demonstration is a good looking lion or bird. :-)
I'm watching Melissa and Robin for hints on these type of shots. I have some learning to do.
Beautiful

I think it is a good shot. You caught them in action and they look very serious about their conversation.
May 15th, 2011
Well captured scene.
May 15th, 2011
First....love your title, very funny. Second i think you did a great job with the photo and find your remark about needing some sort of animal very amusing also:)
May 15th, 2011
An authentic umbrella would be nice also!!! Great action shot!
May 15th, 2011
oh i just love this. how fun...
May 15th, 2011
cool capture... like the way i feel like i've been interjected into their story.
May 15th, 2011
That's really cool. Well captured
May 15th, 2011
I thought the same as @eringoodman since my hubby does some re-enacting and spends a lot of time online scouring for authentic or authentic-looking items.. Still a great shot. Love the interaction.
May 15th, 2011
I love their period costumes and the sense of drama you've captured!!! This is a wonderful shot... Very cool!!!
May 15th, 2011
Fabulous! I like how they are deep in conversation. The costumes are great
May 15th, 2011
You captured their conversation very well. I think they need to work on their costumes a bit, though. I don't think ladies parasols looked like that modern blue umbrella. LOL! Maybe the gal on the right should have been holding a dead rabbit ...."I sent my husband out for dinner and all he brought be back was one lousy rabbit!"
May 15th, 2011
great capture and narrative! ;-)
May 15th, 2011
You've captured the moment! Especially liked your title and commentary.
May 15th, 2011
@mabear Cheryl....I love it. LOL
May 15th, 2011
Fantastic scene to watch. They do look like they're right into their parts.
May 15th, 2011
This is great! I love the moment you captured here. Great people shot - and ha!.. love your reference to a lion or a bird :)
May 15th, 2011
I love the caption! Totally fits the photo and that's great too!
May 15th, 2011
I've never been to one, but I hear they are spectacular.
May 15th, 2011
Cool. I've seen wonderful interpretive acting at Colonial Williamsburg. I love that area.
May 15th, 2011
This is great! love it!
May 15th, 2011
Cool capture!
May 15th, 2011
great shot at the right timing
May 15th, 2011
VLove this so natural and interesting picture. Funny too.
May 15th, 2011

May 15th, 2011
Fabulous Photo. Living history- we can learn so much.
May 15th, 2011

May 15th, 2011
Great capture. I like how your captured the two women talking to each other.
May 15th, 2011
Great cultural and historical shot
May 15th, 2011
Fabulous shot ,i think with hands on hip ,she may not be happy about something
May 16th, 2011
I actually like that the umbrella is modern. Adds a game element to the photo...."find the historical inaccuracy...."
May 16th, 2011
Nice Magz.. you provided a great capture for those listings under it.. asking what do you think they are saying to each other.. you caught their body language and their expressions beautifully!!!
May 16th, 2011
HA! The caption makes this shot even better than it already is. I like it!
May 16th, 2011
Ha! They're also clearly lacking a more ancient-looking parasol and a boquet of foo foo plants too! Nice candid. LOVE the carpetbag!
May 16th, 2011
Great shot! I love the old style clothes in contrast with the modern umbrella, great capture!
May 16th, 2011
Nice candid! I'm not sure the umbrella is from the right period though...
May 16th, 2011
Excellent Capture Maggie, I can here just what they are saying. Nice caption too!
May 16th, 2011
@eringoodman - I had the same thought! :) I love re-enactments (I grew up in Virginia) and I think this was a good capture - love the title, too.
May 16th, 2011
Great period piece- I love her purse!
May 16th, 2011
great fun to watch. I don't think they could have an 'authentic' umbrella as the first umbrella shop wasn't opened ubtil the mid 1800s, so can't blame them for not wanting to get soaked.
May 16th, 2011
Great capture, Margaret! The one with the hand on her hip seems to be counting off a list on her right hand.
May 16th, 2011
My goodness, where are these old fashioned peaople from!
May 16th, 2011
@betterflea Beverly, they were at a living museum, civil war reenacters.
May 16th, 2011
Museums at times have these reenactmens always interesting to see. love the old custums they are wearing. great picture. the one on the left is listening with an astounding epression on here face and he talker comes good across with her hand gesture. I almost feel I know what they are saying.
May 16th, 2011
great capture - well framed
May 16th, 2011
very cool shot!
May 17th, 2011
Deb
I like how you reached outside of your 'comfort zone' and took this shot...and you totally captured the moment ! Well-done !
May 17th, 2011
@momoflilly This is way outside my comfort zone. I have been looking at so many great shots from everyone on here that seems to take people shots with ease. I don't have that skill, but I'm working on it.
May 17th, 2011
lol love it!
May 17th, 2011
I have attended this events with my sons when they were younger. Of course, we didn't spend much time looking at the ladies. It seems there was always someone with a huge whip, or a canon going off, or knives to look at. You get the idea. I love this series for the history and those outfits. Well done.
May 17th, 2011
Great capture and awesome title!!
May 17th, 2011
I like the contrast of the modern umbrella in this shot (:
May 17th, 2011
very nice shot! Moody and well taken
May 17th, 2011
Wonderful candid capture!
May 17th, 2011
Wonderful capture....I would love to attend one of these events. They look like they would be so much fun and FULL of photo ops! :)
May 18th, 2011

May 21st, 2011
