Across the road where the wonderful horses used to roam, the fences were all pulled down. The 10 acre block was sold. We are waiting to see what will happen. This big tractor has come in with its post thumper (not sure what the real name is) and is pounding each fence post into the ground with a great big whack!
Nice shot Maggie. I hate seeing development. Think we have developed enough - there are so many old empty buildings standing around and I often wonder why they don't just rather either go break those old buildings down and build something new or just renovate. I am so tried of seeing mall after mall going up.
@sebella l agree ...there are so many empty buildings, yet they keep putting more up - Maggiemae you will have to keep us posted - l like that he has a pink tractor :)
Someone suggested a fountain and I got carried away and thought it could be turned into a beautiful park with fountains and statues as it is on the border of Oamaru! Ho Hum!
@maggiemae ohh :( - you can dream! It looks like it will be something substantial, they don't use pile drivers for small structures. I'd ask if I were you!
@boogie Nobody seems to know, not the land agents (of course the agent who sold it won't divulge) nor the neighbours or builders! My honest guess is a subdivision (oh dear!)
(I must say I've got used to it. My husband was sooo positive, he says he loves the sound of children laughing and playing!!)
