Post Thumper by maggiemae

Post Thumper

Across the road where the wonderful horses used to roam, the fences were all pulled down. The 10 acre block was sold. We are waiting to see what will happen. This big tractor has come in with its post thumper (not sure what the real name is) and is pounding each fence post into the ground with a great big whack!
Verty interesting how they do that!

@hjbenson Don't say that word, Harry!
May 10th, 2012
I hope it will be something good that comes of it, Maggiemae!
May 10th, 2012
That sounds like a great name for it ; ) I bet not only can you hear it, but you can feel it, too.
May 10th, 2012
I wonder if you'll like what's coming ... think that I'd rather have the horses still out there! Great capture.
May 11th, 2012
Keep us posted on what they put there.
May 11th, 2012
Interesting...I am curious to know what will happen there.
May 11th, 2012
@grannysue Ha Ha! I'll put a stamp on that!

Nice shot Maggie. I hate seeing development. Think we have developed enough - there are so many old empty buildings standing around and I often wonder why they don't just rather either go break those old buildings down and build something new or just renovate. I am so tried of seeing mall after mall going up.

That's a machine! Great capture!

@sebella l agree ...there are so many empty buildings, yet they keep putting more up - Maggiemae you will have to keep us posted - l like that he has a pink tractor :)

I love the colors in this shot.
May 11th, 2012
Oh boy; I hope the field doesn't get turned into an apartment complex or a mall or something.
May 11th, 2012
I hope that what appears is not too intrusive for you.
May 11th, 2012
Love all the bright, poster colours xx
May 11th, 2012
@sebella agreed! Good photo 'tho Maggiemae
May 12th, 2012
@sebella @2thgirl @boogie @michelle58 They can't build a Mall - it's zoned residential!

Someone suggested a fountain and I got carried away and thought it could be turned into a beautiful park with fountains and statues as it is on the border of Oamaru! Ho Hum!
May 12th, 2012
@paulavdmerwe @happypat Beats the heck out of digging holes with a spade and concreting the posts in!
May 12th, 2012
@maggiemae ohh :( - you can dream! It looks like it will be something substantial, they don't use pile drivers for small structures. I'd ask if I were you!
May 12th, 2012
@boogie Nobody seems to know, not the land agents (of course the agent who sold it won't divulge) nor the neighbours or builders! My honest guess is a subdivision (oh dear!)
May 12th, 2012
Oh dear :( It happened to us, we now look out on a housing estate :(

(I must say I've got used to it. My husband was sooo positive, he says he loves the sound of children laughing and playing!!)
May 12th, 2012
@boogie Mostly children don't play and laugh! Its more like shrieking and whining! Aren't I awful!
