Mr Man the Nuts'n'Bolts man, rode up to the Lookout Point over Oamaru where there was a large, World War 2 gun set in concrete.
"British service, Lend Lease US Navy 5/51 calibre gun
In World War II a small number of these guns entered British service on board ships transferred under the Lend-lease arrangement. Some of these guns were then transferred to New Zealand and deployed ashore for coast defence."
Mr Man has his swag on his back which holds his tent and personal items!
Fabulous shot, maggiemae. I just love that sky and that Mr. Man is a silhouette in the shot. I'm glad he has his tent and definitely needs those personal items!!!! (That must be some gun--WOW)
Looks like a scene out of E.T. the movie, where the boy is just about to take off flying with his pushbike , wearing a cape with the alien in the basket....just need the moon for him to be silhouetted against!!!
I don't know why I'm thinking of E.T. looking at this shot. Maybe it's because he looks like he's about to take off and fly into the sky! Fabulous capture. 8)
The little guy certainly gets around, Maggiemae, and you must be getting exhausted following him. I'm looking forward to seeing him on his next adventure.
Maggie, it seems you're having the very best time. . .what I think is so amazing is how your shots are so creative including Mr. Man. . .now you MUST go and watch ET!
