Miss Jemima by maggiemae

Miss Jemima

Playing with exposures here and this was underexposed and the light on the bird was affected but rather interesting, I thought!
Awesome

Who's that cute little girl hiding in the dark? As you say it is still an interesting photo that has lost nothing.

Maggiemae,
I like this a lot. I have a number of similar shot that "in light" of your entry I want to revisit. Not what I'd planned, but interesting highlights.
Nicely done! FAV

@rob257 Thank you Rob - its fun shooting with different lights!

Good highlights on the bird. I would not have thought to have underexposed this, but the exposure is very effective.

I do love the lighting on this, Maggiemae ... I have gotten some shots that came out like this. I always keep them, because this kind of light and shadow are what I love most. I may never upload them ...but I like the effect. Yours is awesome. FAV.

Fantastic shot Maggie, great shadow and lighting.
August 24th, 2012
Low key photography, fantastic! Makes a change from high key which seems to be popular at the moment!

Cool processing!
August 24th, 2012
I like the effect as well, mysterious.
August 24th, 2012
@jackie8 I realise what you said is just really what I wanted to happen - low key as opposed to high key as in one of my other photos!
August 24th, 2012
This is a cool shot. Love the experimental achievement.
August 24th, 2012
The most mysterious bird ever!!

Interesting lighting.
August 24th, 2012
This is very effective processing
August 24th, 2012
I like the dappled effect that you've created!
August 24th, 2012
Puts a pretty glow on her! Nice job!!!
August 25th, 2012
Definately a very interesting shot. Nice looking duck.
August 25th, 2012
Really nice, Maggiemae. The slight underexposure is absolutely right for the subject ... it is all too easy to lose detail in white feathers by overexposure.
August 25th, 2012
Love the shadow and lighting effects. Nicely done & quite ducky!
August 25th, 2012
this is gorgeous! i love the low light and how it is very nearly black and white but there's that gorgeous red beak :)
August 26th, 2012
I need to learn how to do more things with my camera. Ver nice.

Yes, very effective - makes you wonder what intrigue he is up to this duck...
