Bowkers Bridge by maggiemae

Bowkers Bridge

The McCormicks Creek Bridge is the last of the original arched stone bridges still to be seen on the old Coach Road to Central Otago, (NZ) It was replaced by a more modern one in 1962 so until then was used by all traffic! It is so narrow - one coach width! That's John admiring the stonework!

With my photo of the birthday card, I printed out all the good wishes on to a Word document then printed it for my SIL! I think she was confused about all the names but she made a very strong wish to thank each one who wished her a happy birthday. I'm doing that here - if you see this picture!
Beautiful

@karenann Thanks, Karenann - I'll tell him this! I liked it so didn't crop him off - a dangerous occupation!

What a beautiful bridge!

My son the mason would be studying that for hours! He actually did a restoration project similar to this for the state of NY. Nice shot!

@pachelbel She did, thankyou Veronica! My SIL is a great, no, let me make that clearer, super talker - so I like to do things like this for her but find it a bit hard to get through the day!

Really lovely and golden take. Glad it still exists.

Really glad your friend had a good birthday. This is a lovely summery scene for us here in the snowy UK. I do not remember much traffic at all in NZ but this bridge would definitely be too small for the RVs nowadays!
