"The lady moon, a goddess bright,
With shoulders gleaming bare and white,
And stately head in rev'ry bowed,
Leans from her balcony of cloud
In the blue palace of the night.
Down peering from her queenly height,
She pours her soft, refulgent light
Upon a merry-making crowd--
The lady moon!" Andrew Downing
I'm still having difficulty shooting the moon - it is so bright and I can't set the settings to suit - my camera iis always semi automatic.
Three good things:
1.Finished a good book by Susan Hill
2, The Garden Room (glass house by any other name) is drying out.
3.Did 3 years worth of filing and still not finished!
Great capture of the moon, Maggiemae. I got one good one last year of the moon but not since. It is hard to capture craters or the edges. You will one day, just keep trying.
Well I am glad I have company - I just tried to shoot the moon and no go! I googled it too. I may have to break down and ask a serious photographer or read a book! I like the effect you caught here and I love your poem! It sounds like a very productive day.
I finally figured out that the only way I can get good moon pictures with my camera is to take them while there is still sunlight in the sky. It keeps the moon from turning into a spotlight and allows the detail to show.
it took me a year to get a good moon shot. but i find that i can only take good moon shots with my canon powershot. the dslr is completely useless, no matter how much i follow the instructions i find here or other websites. i have a fuji finepix bridge camera and it's useless for moon shots, too.
