I turned the corner into our road after walking from town and the sun was coming right down the street making a sort of haze that I found photogenic. You can see by the biker's shadow that the sun was quite strong. I originally wanted to catch him on the road but he moved on to the footpath and scooted towards me. I couldn't see his face till he was right up to me and it looked a little sheepish. Probably thought I was photographing him! How odd!
Three good things:
1. Fog everywhere else in NZ but not where we live
2. Ingredients for a great seafood chowder tonight.
3. Got a tax refund that helped our spirits rise somewhat - in fact our spirits were so high we were floating!
I could have sworn this bike was riding away from you ...what strange effects fog gives. clever shot into the sun like that maggie & cheers to your tax rebate...a rare & wonderful occurrence!!
The position of the light definitely makes it appear as if the biker is going up the hill away from you! Amazing light captured beautifully, Maggiemae.
Love the light and colour cast in this and the way the pylons and road give strong diagonals. Really sorry I'm behind with my comments but I just saw this and had to write.
Great lighting that you caught! The biker is a great addition because it shows the shadow of him coming forward and adds a focus....and he probably looked sheepish because he was on the sidewalk and not the road!
love the composition. the cyclist and his shadow are great but like that my eye keeps getting drawn to the left of the photo and the line of poles and the bright sun light. Fav.
Just saw this on the PP last night and don't know how I missed it. It's a great shot- has such a strong feeling to it- carefree and yet a little mystery. I'm joining the band wagon a bit late- fav!
Thank you Emma for that - now get into that bed!
