The Cure by maggiemae

The Cure

I have a headache - had them for years - they come and go. I amused myself by thinking what a headache should look like and by the time I had finished, the headache had gone!

Three Good things:
1. I didn't have to take pills which I hate doing
2. Life has returned to normal
3. Although my 100's of photos of water crowns didn't turn out focused, I will not bow down in front of adversity!
I hope your headache goes soon, great creativity here :D

My head has been taking a beating lately, nice creative play. I hope your head aches subside.

I'm guessing #3 had something to do with the headache. Your illustration is perfect and seems to be the new cure for pains! ;~}

Fabulous image Maggiemae. Love the creativity
September 16th, 2013
it also looks like you had a brilliant idea.

Vee
Very cool image! Love the Motorcycle Man in the background! Fav!
September 16th, 2013
@vskolnik Thanks Vee - Mr Man does like to get in the photos somewhere!

Now this is what I call a creative shot. Way to go, Maggiemae. My husband never gets headaches and he says it's because he doesn't have enough brains!!!! (yeah, right ; ) And cool that Mr. Man is in the shot, although I think Yolanda probably gives him a headache ; ) Fav for your creativity. And I love #3--I was thinking today how you always try new things and you NEVER give up.

That is both a great shot of a headache and a brilliant idea.
September 16th, 2013
@yonnie Thank you Yvonne - you do think of the nicest things to say! I might have to hire a camera to get that water crown shot!

And here i thought at first that you were wearing a star in your hair. When I knew it was about a headache, I could see that this is an appropriate way to depict it. If the headaches are migraines, you might see stars before the headache anyway. Glad you managed to get rid of it, hope it's a long time before the next one.

You poor thing. Colin gets migraines and I really sympathise with migraines/headaches. Sometimes the tablets can make you feel even worse. Hope you are better now... keep up the water crown shots (still on my to-do list to try)
September 16th, 2013
Well you may be on to something quite fascinating Maggiemae. The power of thought, and treating such a thing.
September 16th, 2013
I love this shot! The power of photography! And your #3 is brilliant and inspiring:-)
September 16th, 2013
You and I were looking at each other's photos at the same time. Makes me feel like we're neighbors:-)
September 16th, 2013
i used to get really bad migraines that sidelined me for days. when i became vegetarian the migraines went away but sometimes i still do get the precursors especially when there's an impending storm. but they do dissipate when i drink a lot of water. you are so clever with your depiction. i have a different idea though. and good for your for not giving up on that water crown. i saw the result and i like it!
September 16th, 2013
I used to get them too! Getting processed sugar mostly out of my diet really has helped with that. I hardly get them at all now- but like Vikki sometimes a weather change can threaten to bring one on- or too much time on the computer and eye strain! Glad to hear yours passed on by. This shot definitely depicts what it's like to have a migraine!
September 16th, 2013
very cool shot and fascinating. hope you feel better soon.
September 16th, 2013
Headaches suck. I get lots of them too! Great shot!
September 16th, 2013
great processing and good advice
September 16th, 2013
Oh, Maggie, I just hate that you suffer with headaches. I can only imagine how debilitating they must be. You have done a marvelous job with your interpretation in this photo. And I'm so glad the headache disappeared while you were working on the editing! Be well!
September 16th, 2013
@peggysirk Nice of you to show your care, Peggy! I've had them for 5 years now and have learnt to live with them. All the tests done and they aren't as bad or frequent now.

September 16th, 2013

September 16th, 2013
@hettie thank you Hettie for your encouraging words!
September 16th, 2013
I think you have nailed the feeling of a headache. You were very creative in your thinking
September 16th, 2013
A brilliant image for a pesky headache whic I happen to have this morning...not a a bad one & I haven't taken anything for it but I would think a migraine type would look exactly like that.
September 16th, 2013
Great image
September 16th, 2013
Awesome process, maybe you should sell your idea, a lot of people can use a good cure for headaches!
September 16th, 2013
Very creative. Glad it made your headache go away too.
September 16th, 2013
Ouch, that does look sore! But what a wonderful way to cure it! Well done!
September 16th, 2013
Fun creative shot but sorry about your headaches.
September 17th, 2013

September 17th, 2013
Very nice! WEll, maybe not nice on the headache bit, but photo and idea were very clever.
September 17th, 2013
What a clever shot and nice that your headache went away on its own. Mind over matter.
September 17th, 2013

September 19th, 2013
Excellent. What a great concept executed brilliantly xx
September 19th, 2013
I would have never guess it was your headache...i though you had an idea, a genius idea !
September 19th, 2013
ha ha! nice shot!
September 19th, 2013
That's a great way of communicating what a headache feels like.
There is a visualisation exercise to alleviate pain that involves concentrating on it and giving it a colour, size and shape and you keep asking yourself what it looks like until your mental image of it fades, hopefully taking the pain away as you go. I think you've hit upon the photography version of the exercise. I find this very interesting.
Glad to hear it worked for you.
September 20th, 2013
Amusing shot. Not sure how you did it, but it captures the headache (or sainthood) of the person!
September 26th, 2013
Wow...such a good idea...I can soooo relate!
