Two little owls in an old pine tree,
Fluffy and puffy as owls could be,
Blinking and winking with big round eyes
At the big round moon that hung in the skies.
As I passed beneath, I could hear one say,
"There'll be mouse for supper, there will, today!"
Then both of them hooted "Tu -whit, Tu-whoo!"
Yes, mouse for supper, Hoo hoo, Hoo hoo!"
Yes, well enough of that!
Three good things;
1. Found out that you soak corn seeds before planting.
2. Uke concert this afternoon to Alzheimers Group. Mustn't forget!
3. Loving the humour coming from the wilds of Papua New Guinea @bobfoto!
@yonnie Yes Yvonne - feel so lucky not to have been touched by this - well only my mother who had Parkinsons which has the same symptoms! That was bad enough!
@darsphotos thank you Darlene for following me through the corridor of my photos! Somehow, my slightly funny side comes out with 365! I don't what it is, I'm really quite reserved in all other aspects!
@gooner46 Interesting that you mention Seamus Heaney. A last name in my family, some alive and many passed. I have not heard of him before and just googled him and found he has passed. Will have to do more research.
@yaorenliu hardly any owls down here - this is a picture of mythical owls! Lol! Looks as if the wind is going to be too strong for tomorrow's race, Yao!
@maggiemae Interesting coincidence. Have not checked too much and have to find the background about my family that I have somewhere or maybe just ask my Mom. I know there are lots of Heaney's and an annual gathering that I have meant to check out. Amazing what one learns on here.
@skstein Thanks for your comment - it was transformed into a dark mystery by various photographic processes! After all, owls come out in the dark. No, found the poem in a childrens book of poems!
@maggiemae I really have to find the history of our family, we all got a copy. Nice that you have found a relation of yours as well. Too bad that mine passed away. Would have been interesting to chat or correspond some way.
Whoo hoo! Cute owls! Cute poem! I agree with you- Parkinson's is just as hard as Alzheimer's to watch as it takes hold of your loved one. I'm sure the residents loved your concert.
It was quite odd, Vikki! I kept forgetting the notes, people's names and the words of the songs! It must have been in the air, because once I came out of the building I was OK!
