A seaside cafe where we once more enjoyed wedges and wine! There were two customers who recognised John from the Burt Munro Challenge and wanted to chat. This place was near Kaikoura on the East Coast of NZ
Three good things:
1. The wedges had bacon and cheese and mushrooms together with the sour cream so necessary!
2. Not far to home - only one more night
3. The whole summer ahead of us - sorry, you Northern Hemisphere people!
@smellychelli I'm sorry you don't know the word! Wedges are like quartered potatoes, rolled in spicy herbs and then fried in deep oil! I would think they would be semi cooked using a steaming process first!
@stimuloog Burt Munro was a fellow who modified his 1920 Indian bike and eventually set a world speed record. A film was made about him called "The Worlds Fastest Indian" He was my hubby's Dad. They have a series of motorbike races held in Invercargill every Nov, called the Burt Munro Challenge! John is a VIP is a lot of peoples mind - mine also, but for a different reason!
There are whales here right Maggiemae.....would love to see those one day! Fancy someone recognising you...fame indeed!! Lovely thought s of a summer of sun.
Looks like a beautiful place to relax and enjoy. Well-composed shot, with great light and shadow. I'm not minding the winter here too much yet; it's the period after Christmas and before spring that is the hard slog for me.
Are wedges made from potatoes?
