why I even started this! It was an attempt to copy a particular picture I saw then ended up being a study in light and hair!
Three good things:
1. No person was injured in this exercise.
2. I had a lot of exercise going back and forward from the tripod.
3. I've been told of a good game for adults and children: "The Art of Conversation"
I think you started this because you had something inside of you that needed to come out and it is splendid! I love what you have created here Maggie! +F
@yonnie thanks Yvonne for your nice comments! One of my occupations was hairdressing and we learnt finger waving then! But my hair goes naturally like this. Now, where are your photos???
This made me think about Great Gatsby, a book I'm studying with several of my tutees. It has a real feel of the 20s and 30s, and the colouring works so well :-)
Wow, this is an amazing selfie, Maggiemae. I love the waves of your hair and the very light background. I agree with others above that it looks like a 20's or 30's photo. I love your three good things too especially #3 that we are losing so fast with technology today. FAV
@andreajoy Andrea, perhaps you might like to think of doing the same - an angled face shot!? With light and background I think it could be exceptional!
Excellent profile selfie and the lighting is extra special. You really need to frame this one and hang it on your wall as 'the lovely lady of the house.' Fav!
This was such a creative work and I loved reading the thread. It really has such a classic look to it and the technique works so well re lighting and tones.
it's a beautiful shot Maggie, it has a certain style to it, very artistic and it has a 1960's feel to it. The vignette on the bottom adds a nice touch of class. You look beautiful.
glad you are all safe after the taking of this photo.
