One of our great Oamaru painters, Donna Demente, specialises in faces all of which have a slightly different expression. I loved this little display in her gallery, remembering the soft velvet of these old chairs.
The white stripes across the face are actually part of the painting.
Three good things:
1. NZ has won so many Golds at World Competitions. We don't see them as someone in TV programming in NZ is fixated on the World Cup!
2. Busy week ahead - think I'll take some knockout drops at night or get someone to bop me over the head!
3. Found some stale chocolate muffins in the freezer and softened them down with boiling water to give to the birds.
You are going to have a nice empty freezer when you go away on your hols! I like having plenty of food in the house but don't like not knowing what's at the bottom & not being able to fit anything else in!

@maggiemae he he...rivalry is a great incentive that spurs you on......extra time, hope it doesn't go to,penalties! Australia & NZ are great rivals ...just like us & France a bit!
@lwain I realised it was a bit odd, Lindy so I added a comment to my description. It really is painted like this with white stripes looking like tapes! Heaven knows why - just arty, I suppose!
I love the painting and the chairs and the warm tones in both. As I`ve just been looking at Mr. Man and Yolanda in Paris, I now picture them home from their travels and taking their ease in these very comfy-looking chairs.
