Just a pond by maggiemae

Just a pond

that I pass a lot but mostly it has ruffled water. Not today as I stopped for a photo off the main highway. Its fairly nerve-wracking taking a photo here with trucks and cars roaring past you just metres away.

Three good things;
1. Book club and we travelled there with seven in our vehicle. Two seats can be erected in the boot area.
2. It is so nice seeing familiar names commenting on my photos - its like touching base round the world.
3. I do feel sad that a heap of 365'ers have stopped posting but it is their decision and I respect that.
This is beautiful

Brrr it looks very cold

Looks so tranquil - a little piece of heaven in a busy area;
It could just be that people are on holiday that is why they are not posting do you think?
July 17th, 2014
@claireuk I never thought of that, Claire - you could be right!
July 17th, 2014
@claireuk I hope Claire is right -- I've noticed a dip too, but then I'm barely commenting this week because of major work deadline, feeling lousy, and having wonderful company and their dogs. I LOVE this shot! Even moreso because there is no hint at all of traffic or any kind of life other than what might be in and on the pond. Beautiful!

I noticed a dip in my followers too......people have other things to do in summer perhaps! It looks cold here maggiemae.....brrrr! I do like the stillness & those two small trees with their warm branches.
July 17th, 2014
@happypat The pond is quite high - there has been flooding in the area and so I guess these trees are normally on dry land.

Stunning shot - I love that this pond breaks the odd number rule for composition but I am quite inclined to rule breaking too. Whoa that looks chilly. Fav.
(almost worth risking life and limb for but do be careful)
July 17th, 2014
That really looks cold! Lovely mistyness about the water and nice reflections.
July 17th, 2014
@snaphappi I'll have to check that rule - didn't know about it, Maggie!
July 17th, 2014
love how the water is still as glass... the colour tones are wonderful
July 17th, 2014
Very beautiful!
July 17th, 2014
But a very nice shot

Yay for #2!
Boo for #3!

I totally know what you mean about taking pics by the road and all the traffic is WHOOOSHING by! So hard. I get in such a rush. This is so great and too bad "theme -trees" is over....Because this was perfect for that!
July 17th, 2014
May be just a pond but you've captured it beautifully, like the two trees in the centre.

Beautiful
July 18th, 2014
So beautiful with even reflections!
July 18th, 2014
I love this Maggiemae. The reflections are great. It does look chilly as others have commented. Just take care by that busy road.
July 18th, 2014
Lovely shot. I find it really nice that we have such little pieces of nature so close to our busy lives.

Lovely shot, Maggiemae! It's so serene and still. Great reflections. fav
July 18th, 2014
Beautiful capture of this lovely view. Love the colours.
July 18th, 2014
Fabulous shot 😊
July 18th, 2014
oh, how did you happen to see this.
it is really great.
July 18th, 2014
@glendq I look at it every time I go past but with traffic and stuff, I have to be prepared to stop if it looks OK!
July 18th, 2014
Interesting color tonality and composition with the two trees.
July 18th, 2014
This is pretty
July 18th, 2014
Instant fav. Viewing this lovely quiet scene it's hard to fathom that the highway is so close. You captured the view just beautifully and I like the cast of blue as well as the reflections.
July 18th, 2014
It's quite eerie. I know what you mean about familiar faces - touched base with Peggy Sirk on FB today and realised how much I miss her here.
July 18th, 2014
What an amazing shot xx
July 18th, 2014
there's a sense of the surreal in this shot. it's probably the way you processed it. i'm still here, just always missing that 'street' where you live, either i go past it or couldn't go any farther. too busy doing so many things at the same time. that's my story. :-)
July 18th, 2014
LOVE how you did this. Super processing and feel. Fav!
July 18th, 2014
Lovely processing. I love that the two lone trees are making a last stand at staying upright.
July 18th, 2014
Love the blue and silver look here, fav for me.
July 19th, 2014
@tristansmum You were the first person to see this, Stephanie and even I hadn't seen that silver and blue look! I just liked it for some reason!
July 19th, 2014
Beautiful scene!
July 19th, 2014
I love the colour and the fact that this peaceful scene is in contrast to the traffic rushing behind you fav!
July 20th, 2014
@summerfield Your comment intrigues me Vikki! Perhaps you can elaborate?
July 20th, 2014
Super FAV Maggie...just beautifully captured and lovely reflections!!
July 20th, 2014
Like the hint of color in those two submerged trees.
July 22nd, 2014
Beautiful shot! I've been awol- busy with family and travel. But I'm back home now and trying my best to catch up.
July 24th, 2014
So pretty! I've missed 365, been lagging on comments for a few months, now on posting photos, too. Having the grandkids living with us has meant providing childcare some evenings and weekends while my daughter works, very little free time now.
July 26th, 2014
@nanalisarocks I used to know what that was like and sympathise! Get some time for yourself, though Lisa - its important!
July 26th, 2014
Beautiful photo! And after 8 months away I'm SO happy to be back and seeing your photos and reading your three good things! Wonderful all around:-)
