Manchester not being too far away we were able to drive to visit with @happypat and Harry in their lovely English home in Larbreck! (Lubreck is the Czech version) Pat made us all most welcome with coffee and real Anzac biscuits then we drove to another English styled pub of great interest for lunch. It had a theme of mushrooms and was apparently a favourite of some famous people. Now it had 5 more! We stayed talking till the staff just about threw us out (not really, they were very accommodating)
Three good things;
1. It only took an hour to go up but Kerry's GPS took us on a strange trip and we ended up going north of Lancaster before we turned around. However found a gorgeous little craft shop beside a canal where I bought a tiny mushroom made of yew!
2. It was over 2 hours coming back but great to see the English countryside with little villages on just about every knob!
3. Harry and John hit it off with their love of tractors!
I was going to say come 2 hours up the road then read that you have already been further than planned- but would have stopped short of the Lake District. What a shame! It would have been lovely to have met you. Enjoy your British travel stage.
Wow I had no idea you had been on a tour of Lancashire.......good to see the sights but made your day long! I know exactly where you stopped off near the canal...did you buy your mushroom before our visit...quite uncanny if you did! Lovely picture of us in the Cartford although too many chins for my liking LOL! You got the title wrong it's Larbreck but that's Ok only I would notice that !
Safe journey home & thanks so much for your time & lovely gift. Your camera did well on its self timer!! My B&B guests also went to our pub last night & enjoyed it...there was the usual small music group playing as it was a Friday night. Miss you already! X
@happypat We all find something to be concerned about in photos of ourselves! I didn't notice your chins but I did notice my hair which I didn't like! I've since cut it quite differently! Our visit with you will be in my mind for a long while!
@sangwann It often is but sometimes the preferences gets changed and you find you have got - the "way with no traffic' or something. Might have been that!
@happypat No, one of my short occupations was hairdressing so have been cutting hair for over 40 years. I did it myself this time but normally go to a hairdressers!
Wow- you are truly an international 365er now! How fun for you to meet up and spend the day together! If you ever do get here to meet your American cousins call me for the directions. GPS has never delivered anyone to our doorstep correctly!
