The Tale of a Tail by maggiemae

The Tale of a Tail

Mission somewhat accomplished though more by good luck than good management. Tried to get the tail of oncoming planes on the final leg to Singapore airport in the dark. Rather unexciting shot.

Three Good Things:
1. Although when I zoomed in on a plane and completely lost the thing in all that sky, I got one quick shot!
2. Homeward run coming up.
3. Did get some sleep after several jet lagged nights.
It's kinda cool and mysterious. Nice peek in the dark.

where have you all been?
sounds like an exciting trip but you must get some rest soon.

@glendq Does lying down on a bed with eyes wide open in the dark count as rest, Glenda?

i second amanda's @amandal comment. it's quite intriguing, too, like a secret flight transporting some celebrity or statesman, or delivering some clandestine materials. :-)

@summerfield @amandal Your story, Vikki, has much more appeal than mine!

Actually a very interesting image!

Worthwhile effort!! I spent hours at the beach trying to get the kitesurfers and their kites in one picture, and let's just say that the results were less than stellar!! Sometimes you just got to try!

An interesting, intriguing shot.

Nice shot, Maggie. I like it. You can make out the detail on the plane's tail rather well. I'd say you were successful.

Dark and mysterious! Gosh you have been through so many time zones I think it may take a while to get your body clock sorted! Safe journey - nearly home! Nothing like your own bed!

@pamknowler After 18 different beds in the last couple of months, I'm actually planning on changing our own bed (don't tell John just yet!)

@maggiemae Poor John! Lol!

Wow, I like it. Looks so mysterious.

Looks a bit like an Air Canada tail....well done maggiemae......good shot & the light is lovely! Well you have certainly tested all sorts of beds...perhaps you have a rating order.....perhaps a good job you didn't sleep at ours though must say our brass bed is the most comfy I have ever slept in! Quite high off the floor though so no falling out!!

With just a suggestion of the subject matter, we know what it is.

Nice capture!

Interesting capture. It makes it look like two planes (at least to me).

You captured this shot well, Maggiemae. I get lost when I zoom to but only have 1/2 of what you have. Laughing at what you wrote above about changing beds at home. 18 beds, wow. You have been a lot of places and seen so very much. It will be nice to get home.

Great capture. :)

Wow, Very interesting and neat capture!!

I like the way the bits of the plane appear out of the darkness. Hope the final leg goes well.

Not bad for the first venture into night time airplane shots!
