Flowers at a funeral. The church was small but it was packed to overflowing for a lovely lady who gave of herself throughout her life. She taught me painting, she welcomed me into her house in spite of my rambunctious dogs, she was a friend to many. She had a long life but nowadays 88 doesn't seem quite so old, particularly when you are heading towards it!
Three good things;
1. Funerals are good for catching up with friends.
2. A good airfare to Auckland for a time to sort out my sister's estate - she left me her chattels but I don't have much room here at all.
3. Daffodils might be dying but rhododendrons are blooming!
Beautifully presented maggiemae...the frame works really well here ...I don't normally like much in the frame line but here it gives definition....almost like a sympathy card! You will miss your friend.....I know what you mean about getting older!
Flying off again......thank fully not too far. It will be a sad visit.
@happypat Thanks Pat. In some ways sad, because I always used to visit her when in Auckland but this time I'm treating myself for my birthday and staying in an hotel with very plush beds and a restaurant. But the car park costs $28!!
Beautiful image Maggiemae. I am so sorry for your loss. My closest friend died 5 years ago and I still miss her every day. Funerals are very strange things - very sad and often very funny at the same time especially when people are recounting lovely stories about the person. I like the sound of your hotel in Auckland - at least you will be in comfort when you are sorting out your sister's things which will be hard for you!!
I like your presentation, especially the "reflection" at the bottom. Nice job. So very sorry for your loss. I lost my best friend in June and I find myself wanting to just pick up the phone and call her. Enjoy your memories.
That flower arrangement is especially beautiful and graceful and suits it lovely setting. Fav for me. I'm so sorry you lost this lovely lady; she sounds like a wonderful person to have known.
My sympathies to you over the loss of your teacher/friend. The simplicity and beauty of the flowers speaks volumes about her and the impact she had on others.
Flying off again......thank fully not too far. It will be a sad visit.
