Not sure if I like this now. I biked for 11k and my ride took me past this wild beach not known for anything else other than dog walks. Further round the coast there are penguins and further back are swimming and surfing.
Three good things;
1. The sound of surf.
2. Mutton pies for lunch.
3. I wish I could remember!
I think it's stunning. It shows so well the steepness of the fall of land into sea. The colours are lovely and although not natural they enlighten the moment captured, if you know what I mean. Fav.
Beautiful. Love your processing. Typifies the cold , windswept South Island weather we experienced when we visited in 2012. Wish I could have joined you for that mutton pie lunch.
This is an awesome photo, Maggiemae. It looks like a painting. It can drive each one of us crazy looking at photos that we post after staring at them or being creative with them. I love all you have done since you bought your camera. I may sell my Panasonic as it is acting up and buy something else. First back to the camera store where I bought it to see if they can help me. Its lighting of photos is suddenly off. I am having a bad time with cameras. Did a lot of research today. Driving me crazy. I know you love yours and may go back to a Sony myself. FAV
Middle of the night & I'm checking out the trending page & when I check on photos I like here are all my 365 friends.......I have such good taste!
Wonderful shot Maggiemae....worth that long bike ride....you are getting so much out of that machine!
What a great beach & the guy all on his own too...fave!
@darsphotos I did a heap of research before I chose this camera, Darlene but in the end it had what I really wanted - 50 zoom! I would never have got such a good figure here without that!
I love the composition and the processing is awesome. I think sometimes we spend so long looking at an image that we lose sight of whats there. Hope that makes sense
@thistle You could be right - like when you are looking for something, you stand and stare at the cupboard and cannot see what you are looking for! And its right in front of you!
@maggiemae Thank you, Maggiemae. I am looking at higher zoom as I use that a lot with critters in trees and across the lake. It is truly amazing that you captured this photo because of the zoom. I do my research but have had too many problems. Will not be getting a DSLR so reading and reading all reviews.
You're too young for your memory to be going! Great shot. What a lovely quiet beach. It reminds me of the wonderful ones I saw in Northumberland, miles of white sand and hardly a soul on them.
Your bike has been a great buy, getting to places that would be too far to walk. It's great to bike, even push bike, you just see so much more. Like the processing here and that lovely expanse of space. Great composition, the dog and the man just right in there.
