Shades of the Country by maggiemae

Shades of the Country

Been Ruby biking again and feel it is such a privilege to be traversing the beautiful countryside around Oamaru, only a short time away from my home!

Three good things:
1. Sleeping in.
2. Getting fibre broadband - 30Mb per second!!
3. A letter arrived saying we are now allowed to bury the ashes of my half sister and her husband in the plot of her mother who died in 1933.
Lovely colours and composition - great shot

We are still waiting for broadband - very envious. I can imagine how you must appreciate the speed. We can't even get mobile phone reception yet so think broadband will be well down the track.

@yaorenliu The first in the South Island, Yao! Got a bit of News in that event!
December 17th, 2014
Wonderful processing, and how wonderful that you can go off cycling by yourself in your neck of the woods. Sadly, I wouldn't feel very safe taking off on my own to solitary destinations in my neck of the woods.

@skstein I have my mobile with me all the time, Sandy. I could pretend to talk to someone if somebody stopped on the road in front of me that could be suspicious! I have done practices with this but in fact, it has never happened
December 17th, 2014
Very dramatic !

This is a gorgeous shot. I love your framing, Maggiemae. I love to sleep in too. How wonderful that you will be able to bury the ashes of your 1/2 sister and her husband with her mother. Will be nice to close that chapter. FAV for this amazing photo. You are sure getting out and about a lot. Good for you.
December 17th, 2014
@darsphotos It is a chapter, thanks for that word, Darlene! Part of a book but the final chapter!

We are still waiting for our broadband it is now supposed to be January but I'm not holding my breath. We have been promised so many dates and two years on we're still waiting with a steadily worsening connection.
I love this picture your processing is amazing. Fav
December 17th, 2014
@thistle Are you in NZ? It is supposed to be available to most of the country here! Thanks very much for the fav, Joyce!
December 17th, 2014
No I'm in the UK and they tell us it is all set up and ready to go but for some reason they can't switch it on yet! Frustrating but if that's all I've got to worry about I'm one very lucky aged lady!!

Bev
Wow. What a gorgeous shot, Maggie. Love the processing. It gives the sky a little bit of a glow. I like your 3 things. Sleeping in is the best one. That's great you got permission to bury the ashes. 30mb broadband??? Wow. I have 3.0 mbps and it's pretty fast. I think yours will be supersonic speed!
December 18th, 2014
@prttblues Thats what appealed to me too, Bev - the glow. Let you know what happens with 30mb per second - going to be connected on the 31st Dec. Thinking about a huge party!??
December 18th, 2014
I like your processing. Hope you are enjoying your rides.
December 18th, 2014
