After a ukelele practice I set off home but saw this on my way. It was 9pm and some of these clouds were responsible for a downpour of hail today. The walkway was restored a few years ago and goes over a single branch of the railway which is only used now for little train excursions on Sundays along the harbour.
This is actually looking east so the clouds are reflecting the western sun!
Three Good Things:
1. Our practice went well and our upcoming performance in Central will be super. Makes me feel proud to be part of it!
2. The hail that came down was so hard and thick it was absolutely deafening on our deck roof. Exciting
3. Got the lawns done before this downpour.
@judithg Your barking might go on longer than my hail! I met someone recently with a Papillion who are bad barkers and she had got one of those collars that puff out a scent that the dogs don't like! It certainly works with that dog but she takes it off when she is alone in the house.
He seems to be getting anxious about all sorts if noise as he gets older. I try to move him to a quieter room but if the wind is blustery it can be tricky!
A very sharp & beautiful silhouette of this bridge maggiemae. The stunning sky behind makes it look like a walk up to heaven......don't go you're not ready yet!
@maggiemae oh no don't start thinking like that....you do get some gloomy thoughts in the night sometimes though don't you! I find I worry about everything if I wake & lie there in the night but when I get up they have all gone! Must be an age thing!! We will always due in the middle if something! I tell Harry because he is always ahead of himself doing stuff that he's only saving time on the day he dies!
Wow what a powerful shot - that sky is fantastic. I am a terrible sleeper and your mind takes you to very strange places when you are lying there trying to get some sleep!!
Gorgeous reflection on those clouds....creating lovely light for your capture of the bridge! Might be a nice view from up there...maybe when the train is coming by?
@eyesmile Its quite interesting Gena - it doesn't really take you anywhere - you can cross the railway lines on the road, but tourists and locals seem to love climbing up the ramp and walking across and down!
it is beautiful to look at. isn't it strange that the skyscapes everywhere have actually changed? Things like this before were a rarity and made news but now it occurs everywhere. good photo opportunity for the camera savvy though.
What a beautiful shot, Maggiemae. I love the colors of the clouds and this bridge. Sounds like a great practice and a fun event coming up. Nothing like hail coming down. Glad you got your lawns mowed before that. FAV
What a beautiful sky! Great shot Maggie! I'd be so tempted to climb that railway to see what kind of picture you'd get from there. But most likely half-way up the butterflies in my stomach would turn me around and I'd be back on the ground in no time!
