Spotlight on France

This is a glass ball that has a map of the world etched on it. It was a challenge to get that in focus as well as the map magnified underneath. You can see the big curve of Africa and above that is the European lands, going up into the north pole. The American coastline is just seen on the left.

Three good things:
1. Bought a hat and a waistcoat to wear as a quirky look for the ukelele concert.
2. Very interested in what MaryBeth @espyetta had to say about TT, PP and 365. Makes one think.
3. Found so many of my friends on the latest TT and was blown away by their photos that I had missed seeing!
This is very well done Maggie...

Maggiemae - I do believe you have come up with something completely original... this is a very compelling image, although the globe needs to go up a bit and left a bit to show where I live! Fav for me for your creativity.
January 21st, 2015
@vignouse I'll see if I can do one for you, Richard - Brittany?
January 21st, 2015
@maggiemae Bless your heart MM, you're too kind, I would be tickled by that! Yes Brittany, about 40 km SW of Rennes.

Very clever and creative! Great image with wonderful clarity!
January 22nd, 2015
@maggiemae 30K north of Redon - it's a tiny village called Paimpont but we are surrounded by almost 50,000 acres of forest which usually shows on maps; our nearest small town is Plélan-le-Grand about 6km east of us.

This turned out great, Maggiemae. I bet you will look great at the concert. I hope your link above takes me to what Mary Beth said about TT, PP and 365. FAV Thanks for the reminder as I have a plain crystal ball and I need to use it once again.
January 22nd, 2015
Your link above took me to her project but not to what she said. How do I get there, Maggiemae?

Very cool shot Maggiemae, and a great idea to highlight the map. Believe it or not, I own one of those crystal balls with the map etched on it! Before I purchased the clear one from Amazon I had tried to use it unsuccessfully, probably because of the wrong f stop. You did great here!
January 25th, 2015
@panthora It was a journey in focus, Osia! I just kept changing the settings!
January 25th, 2015

PS - what was the thing about PP, TT and 365? I'd like to read it. Is there a post in the discussions? I've been absent (but then I think you might have guessed that already!).
