A competition was held by a photographic company about a good dress that might be in your wardrobe and hasn't been worn. I posted this one which is a lovely dress but it has shrunk badly!
Three good things;
1. I won a $100 voucher (not money) to spend at this studio.
2. I was out trimming wisteria and thought I heard a cat meowing. Our cat wasn't around so I thought there might be a lost cat. John and searched around for a while with me continuing to hear this sound - then finally I realised it was me, being slightly wheezy!!
3. NZ won the cricket over England!
#2 GT made me laugh #3 made me cry!! Useless cricket team we have at the moment.....they need to try harder! Stunning dress & I bet you loved stunning in it......no chance of wearing it again then? You won too, how lovely to collect all that money as a prize!
I have some of those dresses in my cupboard as well, the shrinking type. I like the soft processing and I'm sure it brings back lovely memories ;) Congrats to NZ on the win over England - it didn't take much effort! I was horrified as I'd woken up at 3am (our time) to watch! Onwards and upwards
Funny how the clothes contain memories of places they've been worn to. This is still gorgeous and so you keep it like a pressed flower in honour of an occasion.
@maggiemae Yes, Maggiemae. I had a urinary tract infection and was sick for a week at home. 2 different types of antibiotic didn`t help and I became more sick because I couldn`t keep anything down. after a week it was more than time to go to the ER from where I was admitted to the hospital. they tried different antibiotics with no result. I was there for a week, sick as a dog so to speak, lost 10 pounds and after many tries, the fifth antibiotic finally kicked in. came home on December 19th. it took awhile for me to recuperate enough to go on vacation. soaking up the sun in Mexico was the best medicine.
@bruni This was before your great holiday and you must have loved the hotels you stayed in - the comfort and the being waited on! How ghastly for you last year!
Ha, great theme and photo. I have dresses that have only been worn once. Sometimes those prizes are bit of a have, as you end up having to spend more money...
You make me laugh. Love that you sounded like a cat in the end. I love this dress. The print and colors are fabulous. Too bad it shrunk. Congrats on your win, Maggiemae.
@darsphotos Thanks Darlene - I got excited about the 'win' until I realised it was only a discount for a studio appointment! All the other participants got this voucher too!
Very pretty dress, Maggie. It's sad how dresses and other clothes can shrink on us over time, isn't it? Congrats on winning the competition! That wheezing doesn't sound like a good thing! I hope it's not serious.
Gorgeous dress, and too bad it has not been worn, but it has now served its purpose, right?! Sometimes I get really disgusted when they use competitions as marketing tools, and then you have to spend more money to get something back!! But, you are indeed the cat's meow!!
