Picmonkey showed ideas on how to make a vintage collage with interest so I gathered a few old photos for this. The one on the top left is my mother's family and as you can see she is on the left. I had saved the words as being in the middle so couldn't change them but was able to add some. I sadly noticed that this photo was taken in 1908 when Mum was 3 years old and her mother on the left, died in 1908.
Three good things:
1. Sweet remarks from people about my selfies - now I've got to see myself in my album every time I open the thumbnails.
2. Eating our first pepper, not too hot (that's good) but we both ate too much and got indigestion!
3. Skype from son in Vancouver (a future first time Dad)
This is beautifully done maggiemae......it would be nice printed & put on your wall. How sad to think your mothers mum died the same year this was taken...your grandmother looks quit well so,it must have been sudden! Congratulations on your coming grandchild!
@happypat I haven't got enough wall for all the stuff, Pat! As it is some pictures get a turn on the wall then go back into the cupboard! It was good to put this together and recognise it for my forbears!
@grammyn Looks like butter wouldn't melt in my mouth! But I led so many children into trouble with my imagination - like making my sisters climb up a tree that overhung the footpath and tip water on to passerbys heads!
What a wonderful treasure you have created!! Always so amused that people did not smile for their photos back then. Must have had to sit too long to keep a smile on their faces. Lovely Maggie.
@eyesmile thanks Gena for commenting! I also note that in the early 1900s the men all had beards and the women, high necklines! People were hiding things?
These are wonderful photos to have and share Maggiemae. I love your collage so much and will have to check this out myself. You were adorable. I love your selfie from the other day.
@darsphotos Probably means more to me than others, Darlene! My mother wrote on the left hand photo - she can't stop looking at it, trying to get to know her mother who she lost at the age of 3. Thanks for remarking on this, Darlene!
This collage is a great idea Maggie. I have some treasured photographs of my Mother's family that will no doubt make an appearance on here one day. Congratulations on your son's news. Very exciting.
What a lovely capture. While over in N.I. for my mum's 95th we sorted out her photos and got some old ones that I wrote on who they were. Within 2 generations the names and connections can be so easily forgotten
Brilliant collage of old family photos. You "did this up" so beautifully....I am impressed. What a nice memory and this would make a wonderful wall hanging. Fav.
