Rolling Seas by maggiemae

Rolling Seas

On one side of the wharf the boats lie at anchor in sparkling and still water. On the other, the sea rolls in with thunderous waves, swirling up on to a rough beach and dragging back with a hiss of rolling stones. The beaches are like this for miles up the northern coast.

Three good things:
1.A crusty ciabetta, warm from the oven was purchased at the Farmer’s Market on this Sunday.
2. Greengages coming into the fruit scene.
3. Cricket???The only good thing about that is that we were on a world stage!
Love how sharp this photo is. (:

This is fabulous processing for the image -- I like the darker desaturation for the mood it creates.

@happypat The remnants of the cyclone probably, Pat - huge rolling waves! I stopped watching the cricket!
March 29th, 2015
Let's not mention the cricket. The one good thing was that today was the last of my early (3 or 5am) wake-up calls! Bad luck, NZ - you did so well through the stages. I was rooting for you.

looks to be a good beach for walking. cricket season has not begun here......ever.
March 30th, 2015
@chard Not walking, Richard - you would need a pogo stick to jump over all the rocks! And an aqualung when the waves crash right into the wall!
March 30th, 2015
Splendid image...I spent my childhood hols by the sea. Now we live nearly as far from the coast as possible on this little island.
