Playing with the sunset colours in the western sky. There seems to be so many layers when you zoom!
Three good things;
1. Book club today was at my place and I didn’t bake a cake. Just made lashings of egg sandwiches! (bought some nice slices from a bakery, though)
2. Picked a heap of red peppers and managed to give some away! But did get the knowledge that you can freeze them!
3. Its good to be intellectually stimulated even if you just want to hide in a corner and read comics! ( I don’t really)
Looks unreal. Love it.
# nr. 1 We just finished our last book for this season. It's a marvellous book: "We Need New Names", written by Noviolet Bulawayo. It tells the story of Darling and her friends growing up in what they call Paradise in Zimbabwe. This novel explores the struggles faced growing up in this landlocked country, which isn’t all-bad; the kids find ways to manage and even have fun. When Darling got a little older she was sent to America where a whole new set of mischief and adventures began. More information about the author and this book can be found on the internet.
With the short summer here I grow peppers in 5 gal buckets, seems that the extra warmth helps them out!! Beautiful capture and processing make for a magical image!!
@gijsje That book sounds great! My mother's cousin was PM of Southern Rhodesia as it was called then so his family had heaps of stories - most of them bad.
@bruni Thanks Bruni - I used the app 'cartooniser' for this shot then softened it and dimmed the colours as it was really too bright! Manipulator Maggie - that's me!
@maggiemae You are welcome - I don't just fav everything but am building up a compendium of the shots that give me good examples of what I might aspire to one day. Sorry I've been a bit slack re comments lately.
@skipt07 I think most people like egg sandwiches except for those who are allergic to eggs! I've got one family member like this - not easy to cook for!
comics? i know of an older lady (older than me is what i mean) who still reads comics. didn't even know they existed. no, not those super hero comics, comics like a drama in comics, just like the ones the poor people in manila used to read. my parents never encouraged us to read comics, but books was all i wanted to read anyway. it makes me form the pictures in my mind and get to "travel" that way. nice treatment you gave this photo
This is a stunning look....those clouds are almost mountain like!
