Fizzy lemonapple. by maggiemae

Fizzy lemonapple.

A new variety of apple appeared on the market shelves and I bought a couple to see what they tasted like. They are named lemonade, so I thought they should be seen in their namesake!

Three good things;
1. I now have apple flavoured lemonade!
2. A lovely bike ride - great living in a small town - 10 minutes and I'm biking along a beach road and well into the country!
3. An interesting idea - growing plants in a sack with a centre of scoria and pot plant soil around .
Looks very refreshing. The color really got my attention. Totally agree on the bike ride "good thing" too!

Looks like it could be a magazine ad! BTW...great advice about Greek yoghurt!
May 20th, 2015
@taffy yoghurt stays in the tum longer and coats the sides well. i got gastritis - inflammation of the stomach and it lasted 6 months!

Those are nice apples .. very similar to 'Old School' golden delicious
May 20th, 2015
Fabulous image - love it!! What doe the apple taste like? Is there a reason they have called it lemonade? Fav!
May 20th, 2015
Great fizz - Fav!!
May 20th, 2015
@pamknowler Its not as sour as some apples - I find it so hard to eat apples! Very crisp!
May 20th, 2015
@julzmaioro Not as sweet as Golden Delicious and they are quite huge - very crisp and solid flesh!
May 20th, 2015
So cool fav

Would never have thought of doing this. Good shot. I have never heard of these apples, will look out for them over here.
May 20th, 2015
I like the way you left the name label on, they really show & give great focus to this photo! Homegrown apples too even better! A good name I think makes you think of refreshing crisp textures. I am not a big fruit eater I am ashamed to say preffering vegetables .....Harry is the great fruit eater but since his op he has gone off fruit completely!
May 20th, 2015
@happypat I'm not a fruit eater at all, Pat but find I just love smoothies made with all sorts of fruits - apples, pineapples, bananas, pears etc. John loves his fruit and digs into the fruit bowl every day.
May 20th, 2015
Fav.
May 20th, 2015
@pamknowler I think its a most inapt name, Pam! Its not fizzy or lemony!
May 20th, 2015
@maggiemae Perhaps I should buy a smoothly machine!
May 20th, 2015
@happypat Too right! Don't get an expensive one with all the attachments - just the one with the motor and 2 beakers ( one spare). About NZ$50 here. Thats what we have for breakfast only!

First I've heard of them and they are probably gowing in the orchard just down the road. Stupid marketing names they use now - I liked it when they had proper names like 'Peasgood Nonsuch' and 'Nontitty Bastard' etc. By the way I can still purchase those varieties locally.
May 20th, 2015
So it's actually an apple and not a drink, if I understand it. I have to let my apples to get a little soft with age, have problems to swallow a crisps apple. nice presentation of it though.
May 20th, 2015
@bruni I do too, Bruni - my face contorts!
May 20th, 2015
@snaphappi You are kidding! " Nontity Bastard""""? So many varieties of apples now, even the old historic varieties!

Lovely capture and POV, Maggie!
May 21st, 2015
Super shot .I wonder if the taste resembles their name sake ?
May 21st, 2015
@beryl Not at all, Beryl, not sweet but not tart. Just very crisp!
May 21st, 2015
Bev
Nice shot, Maggie. I like the bubbles. Apple flavored lemonade??? Then wouldn't that be apple juice? It's nice that you live in a small town and can be at a beach in 10 minutes. I have to drive an hour and a half to get to a beach!
May 21st, 2015
@prttblues Everytime I go out on the bike, Bev, I think how lucky I am! Thank you!
May 21st, 2015

May 21st, 2015

Nicely done Maggie

We're like yor husband in that we eat fruit. Apples, kiwi, blueberries for breakfast. I love a crisp apple so must look out for them. This is such a fun image. Fav
May 21st, 2015
@kelly2 I do believe there is more health in fruit than vegetables in spite of the natural sugar!
May 21st, 2015
Great refreshing picture Maggie. Love the label telling us what's going on. I would be disappointed if the apple didn't taste a bit of lemon though. At least it should be fizzy!!
May 21st, 2015
@thistle Well, I daresay, Joyce if you poured lemonade over yourself while eating this crisp and delightful apple you might have this fizzy feeling!
May 21st, 2015
does it taste good? but bubbles here make me feeling rather cold.
May 21st, 2015
bike ride sounds awesome ,cool capture
May 21st, 2015
Cool idea to put the lemonade apple in lemonade. Great focus and the apple's colour is so bright.
May 21st, 2015
@yaorenliu You drink the bubbles, Yao, not dive into them! And the apple was not long enough in the lemonade to flavour it sadly!
May 21st, 2015
@steeler You do the same Howard, only in a different landscape!
May 21st, 2015
@maggiemae yep any mention of a bike ride and it sounds sounds awesome to me :)
May 21st, 2015
Super image.
May 21st, 2015

May 21st, 2015
what an interesting photo and the drink sounds refreshing. nice to have something different. are you growing potatoes in the bag? great details in your shot.
May 21st, 2015
Love you shot. It's perfect on so many ways. You should get paid foe advertising for them.
May 21st, 2015
They sound fascinating and a great shot
May 21st, 2015
Wonderful capture.
May 21st, 2015
What an intriguing name for apples. Are they sour? The shot looks very refreshing.
May 21st, 2015
Keep us posted on them. Love the shot. Enjoy the bike ride.
May 21st, 2015
looks so refreshing and cold
fav
May 21st, 2015
@catsmeowb No, it was originally for growing herbs and things but that is a great idea! I shall go and get some seed potatoes!
May 21st, 2015
@maggiemae I hear they grow in burlap, purchased grow bags, all sort of deep ones that you just add soil to instead of mounding then dump to harvest.
May 21st, 2015
Love it...and so creative. How did it taste?
May 22nd, 2015
beautiful picture. I 'm not sure I would have recognized it as an apple without the explanation.
May 22nd, 2015
@francoise It was actually only a quarter of the apple with the skin on the outside showing the label!
May 22nd, 2015
@eyesmile The apple was not acutely tart but not sweet either. Very crisp!
May 22nd, 2015
Love the colour and all the bubbles in this. I wonder if we will ever get to taste that apple here.
May 22nd, 2015
Mmmm, I'd like a cool hard pull of that--yum! Terrific image
May 22nd, 2015
@aikiuser I have just now, Jenn - but with a touch of gin in it!
May 22nd, 2015
@maggiemae Even better! ;-D
May 22nd, 2015
Great textures and colour.

May 22nd, 2015
Wonderfully captured! Looks very thrist quenching! Fav!
May 23rd, 2015
Nice take on the fizzy shot. How interesting about the new variety of apple.
May 24th, 2015
What a cool shot!! And, I have never heard of an apple named Lemonade....seems weird, actually!! BIG fruit eaters in my family....we, actually call my brother a "fruitarian" for the amounts of fruit he can consume!
May 26th, 2015
@panthora I'm now of the brigade (if there is one) that fruit is more important than veggies. We peel veggies and we cook them. Fruit has its own sugar and so many more healthy stuff if you eat the skin. Good for your brother - he won't get sick! (cross fingers!)
